Chelsea Moyer is both a social worker and a higher education administrator who operates from a strengths-based perspective and a deeply rooted appreciation of systems theory grounded in the belief that we are all connected; we cannot understand a singular part of who we are, what we do, and what we bring to the table without also viewing and examining the interrelatedness of the whole. The active and intentional pursuit of increased self-awareness (to which education and the process of learning is closely linked) through thoughtful exploration, understanding, and compassionate acceptance of self is an essential key to personal, interpersonal, and community change. Chelsea’s love of learning, her person-centered approach, and her professional paths intersect in a multitude of ways and most importantly through her desire to empower others to fully and wholeheartedly embrace their authentic selves.
Chelsea has worked and continues to work to support adults struggling with substance use disorder throughout the last four years in both an intensive outpatient context and aftercare program through her work at Kolmac Outpatient Recovery Centers via Kolmac’s Gaithersburg and Silver Spring sites. She possesses a genuine love of and an appreciation for group therapy and a desire to meet the individuals with whom she works where they are.
