Our Services

Our services and programs provide professionals with the tools and experiences to deal more effectively with stress, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and other mental health concerns that impact their ability to function well at work and in their personal lives.

Our services aim to support the “whole professional” while proactively developing individual, organizational, and relational skills and strategies that are proven to help reduce stress and anxiety while fostering communication, resilience, and well-being.

Therapeutic

Mental health counseling gives individual professionals an opportunity to meet with a therapist to discuss how to improve their mental health.  Our professionals can help clients understand their needs, craft individualized treatment plans, identify resources, set goals, and build in accountability in regard to their mental health needs.

All mental well health counseling begins with an initial meeting to assess the needs of the client. From the initial assessment, we counsel individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, perfectionism, relationship issues, substance abuse, work-life conflict, trauma, and loss. Working together, we help our clients tap into strengths they already possess while cultivating the insight and coping skills they need to reconnect with what matters most in their lives. With a multi-disciplinary team that includes former lawyers and business executives, psychotherapists, psychiatric nurses, nutritionists, and alternative therapists, we are able to combine strategic thinking with a warm, empathic therapeutic approach based on the recognition that clients are the experts on themselves. Drawing on techniques from mindfulness, psychodynamic theory, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral science, and dialectical behavior therapy, we help clients live their best lives, both professionally and personally.

Whole Professionals counselors embrace a strengths-based approach of counseling that emphasizes collaboration with a client to identify and utilize the strengths they already possess to achieve the goals that are important to them. Whether clients are looking for assistance in dealing with anxiety, depression, work challenges, relationship issues or something more, we meet them where they are to find integrative solutions for better mental health, happier relationships, and more effective work performance.  We are solution-focused and work using various evidence-based approaches, knowing that the professionals with whom we work are interested in returning to work at full capacity as soon as possible.

Psychiatric and medication management services are available as a supportive treatment to clients participating in therapy. Your psychiatric team will provide education regarding possible medication interventions and collaborate with your therapist to ensure both treatments support your goals.

Nutritional psychiatry is an emerging area of research specifically looking at the role of nutrition in the development and treatment of mental health problems. Nutrition is the root cause of so many of our current health conditions and can be one of the main contributing factors to anxiety, fatigue, brain fog, mood swings, and depression. At Whole Professional, our functional nutritionists work with clients to discover the root cause of their conditions and support them nutritionally in a variety of ways. Our nutritionist will look for nutrient depletions related to symptoms such as B12 deficiency, anxiety, hormonal issues, hypoglycemia, and mood swings. The first goal is to support health through food, focusing on essential nutrients that help rejuvenate over-taxed organs and support brain health.

Our therapists provide the mental, emotional and behavioral health services individuals need to recover from drug and alcohol abuse, gambling addictions and other behavioral issues. We understand that substance abuse and misuse is a coping mechanism, albeit a maladaptive one, and understanding the issues behind it, whether they are trauma, anxiety, depression, or another mental health challenge, is imperative to healing.  Simply stopping use of your substance, or behavioral addiction, is not enough.  Our experienced therapists create a supportive, judgment-free environment that provides patients with the resources they need on their recovery journey.

Our therapists are also trained in the “pre-addiction” stage of substance misuse and the interventions that are most helpful in avoiding full addiction and its consequences.

Our therapists are specialists in trauma therapy and, when needed, focus on helping clients cope with the emotional response caused by a traumatic event. We understand that with trauma therapy, one of the top priorities is breaking through avoidance.  The more you push down a trauma, the less likely you are able to tolerate your feelings associated with it and move on with your life, often going to great lengths, sometimes with maladaptive behaviors such as addiction, to avoid it.

Our  therapists are trained in the procedures to help our clients face the trauma they have been through, as well as in equipping the traumatized person with coping tools is part of this process. With the help of a trained trauma-therapist, over time, clients will no longer experience distress when memories of the trauma arise nor will it negatively impact their daily lives.

Wellness Programs

The physiological response to being outside in nature is real, and it’s measurable.  There are both physical and psychological benefits of nature that scientists have observed, which can better help us understand how nature supports wellness in the body, mind and community.

Although important, sometimes resetting your mental and physical health requires more than a 20-minute meditation session or sweaty HIIT class.  Making real change means doing away with long-held habits and shifting your mindset — two things that are much easier when you can step away from the grind of daily life and retreat to a place that supports your desire for a life adjustment through physical, psychological, and spiritual offerings.

That’s where wellness escapes come into play. They’re designed to aid in transformation — be it body or soul — through a combination of unique experiences, expert staff, and locales that can be spacious and extravagant or remote and minimal.

Benefits of the Outdoors
Being outdoors can provide a much-needed respite from the distractions, technology, and chaos of everyday life.  We are constantly being overstimulated with media, noise, and the use of our devices throughout the day.  Going outdoors and reigniting this inherent sense of connection to the natural world can alleviate depression and anxiety, which is often spurred by feeling disconnected.

There are many mental wellness benefits associated with being outside, including faster psychological stress recovery. Studies have shown that being in nature can restore and strengthen our mental capacities, increasing focus and attention.

Another major component of mental health is social connection. The outdoors serves as a venue to come together with friends and family and connect with the larger community, and togetherness is especially important for us now.  Isolation can really impact our mental health, and that the outdoors really provides that space for us to come together in a fun, physical pursuit can be invaluable.
